Calibrating Direct Plug-in CA to Stand Alone CA
Introduction:
The stand-alone Cycle Analyst (CA-SA) comes pre-calibrated to a molded shunt resistor (pictured below), a pair of pigtail leads on either side of the shunt simply connect between the vehicle's battery pack and motor controller.
The direct plug-in Cycle Analyst (CA-DP) plugs in directly into a motor controller and uses controller's internal current sensing shunt resistor for measuring current. In order to measure current precisely, CA-DP must be calibrated by programming a resistance value for the current sensing shunt. Steps below describe how CA-DP can be calibrated to the pre-calibrated CA-SA.
